Client name: Skat Consulting Ltd
rebranding, brand system and website development
SKAT operates at the intersection of infrastructure and social impact, managing projects in over 100 countries. After nearly five decades, the organization faced a common tension: their expertise was hidden behind fragmented messaging and visual language.
The challenge wasn't just a logo refresh, it was a logistical puzzle. They needed to convey "Swissness"– stability, trust, and credibility – without falling into clichés.
We acted as a thinking partner before we acted as designers. To solve the friction, we had to move past the surface and look at the underlying data.
We helped the team identify which elements were truly "them" and eliminated the rest. We focused on the concept of building blocks, reflecting how SKAT’s varied projects actually function in the real world.
We developed a modular identity system rooted in utility. This wasn't just about aesthetics: we helped build a structured project database and a brand asset system to ensure the brand remains usable and scalable.
The visual language uses a system of icon blocks that highlight specific themes – like Water or Energy – against their service types. We even stepped into data management and cleanup to ensure the new brand system was functional from day one.
SKAT now communicates through a unified brand system that matches their operational maturity. The organization can now clearly communicate decades of know-how without the noise of fragmented messaging and identity.
By structuring the foundation, we moved the brand to visual clarity and scalability that reflects their values and their 48-year history.
